I just typed the pattern for the sweater and found the progress pictures and uploaded them to Flickr. I think I'll both put the pattern on the blog with pictures of the steps, and do it neatly. Probably with a PDF. On the off chance anyone else wants to make it.

I sorted out the pictures for the sweater blog post. I hate doing that. Choosing the similar ones that look good, trying not to repeat the Instagram ones, starting too much at your face, and I've never really gotten used to sharing multiple pictures of myself online. And it's 8 1/2 inches long and 24 inches wide, so just as it should be!

Part of me wants to make another 2 day sweater with this yarn to see what happens...

Years ago I wrote a blog post on my 1920s yarn samples. I updated it since I changed my mind about Shetland floss. I just crossed out the old parts, said what I think now, and mentioned that information can change.

I also decided that it's really time to take 1920s sweater pictures. There's a 1936 school downtown. I wondered about it for ages and finally saw it a few months ago. I'm 70 rows into the skirt. If my math is right, it's the same length as the bodice is from the waist to the underarm, except for the five fringe rows which will add a little length. It's about seven inches (plus whatever the fringe adds), which is short for that, but it's really stretchy so long enough if it stretches and the waist doesn't pull up ( Read more... )

We have a random day off Wednesday, so I want to take pictures of the sweater. So, I'm making a beret from a 1920s Mrs. Depew pattern. I hope it works! It's going to be unlined silk taffeta.
